2nd EVCNC Invitational Volleyball Tournament 2023

 

EVCNC is organizing 2nd invitational Volleyball tournament on June 17th at Herbert Young Community Center, Cary. We have a total of 8 teams participating and games are scheduled to start from 9:30 AM. This is a one-day event, and we are planning to conclude all games, trophies, and certificate distribution by 6 PM. If you are in town, please join us to watch, cheer and enjoy the competitive volleyball matches.

Tournaments Rules

 

Players Eligibility:

 

  • Players must be in the roster communicated to EVCNC during the registration 
  • All the Players in a team should be from the SAME state. You can not bring a player from another state or the country
  • All the players should be from Nepali origin. It is our additional goal of the tournament to have a bonding among Nepali origin people.

 

Game Rules:

 

1- Coin Toss

  • Winner of the coin toss choose either – to select to serve or receive OR the side of the court on which to start the game

2- Rotation

  • Order specified by the starting lineup must be maintained throughout the game
  • Position switch should be done after the serve from opposite site – when switching between hitters/MB
  • Substitution is only allowed at the specified position

3- State of play

  • Game should not be halted unless a referee blows a whistle (other team gets a point if the game is halted )
  • Only three positions at the front are allowed to jump/hit at the net. No player from the back court can come to the net and hit the ball at any time.
  • If two players contact the ball simultaneously. It will be counted as just a single touch so the team can still touch the ball twice before sending it over to the other side.
  • No reach over is allowed from the other side (regardless of the touch -1 or 2 or 3). However, blocking is allowed at any moment.
  • Players may partially or completely cross the center line below the net or outside the poles, either before, during or after a legal play of the ball, provided that this does not interfere with the opponent's play. 
  • Maximum 2 timeouts per game are allowed (excluding injuries)
  • Other general volleyball rules are applied and the referee will have the final say.
